Clyde Smoll

Clyde comes to The Neiman Sports Group with a wealth of experience, both in the corporate world, as well as, college and professional sports.  After spending nineteen years with companies such as IBM, Sperry, Avery International & Thomas Jefferson University & Medical School, Clyde made the decision to take his management & sports experiences into the world of professional sports and became the principal owner and GM of the Elmira Pioneers Class A Baseball Team (Boston Red Sox  & Florida Marlins affiliate) for eleven years.

Having spent many years playing high school/college baseball and later serving as the pitching coach for the Allentown Wings and founding the Quakertown Blazers of the Atlantic Collegiate League, Clyde took his love for the game and turned it into a career. During his professional team ownership/GM years, Clyde was named NY-Penn League Executive of the Year twice, won the League Marketing Award each of two years, served as League Treasurer for nine years and was a member of various League committees.   After 9 years  in Elmira, the team moved to Lowell MA and became the Lowell Spinners.  After selling the team, Clyde went on to hold senior management positions in the Central Hockey League in Indianapolis, IN, the New Orleans Zephyrs AAA Baseball Team and the NJ Jackals of the Independent NE League. 

Clyde is a graduate of Quakertown High School, having lettered in football, basketball and baseball. He graduated from the University of Cincinnati, where he had a baseball scholarship, was co-captain of the baseball team his senior year and was named to the All- Missouri Valley Conference Academic Team.

Always active in the community, Clyde has served on the Board of Directors of several Chambers of Commerce, Boy Scouts, United Way, the Guthrie Medical Center, Indiana Sports Corp. and  been a member of the Rotary Club since 1986.

Clyde is married and has three children and six grandchildren.
